Authorities tracked down their car after determining that they were the prime suspects in the fatal hit-and-run wreck that killed the 37-year-old construction worker in Fort Lauderdale.<\/p>\n<p>The worker, who has not been identified, was hit around 3:00 a.m. while fixing a road work sign. The incident happened south of Sample Road in the northbound express lane. Paramedics were dispatched immediately, but the victim died at the scene, per a statement from FHP troopers.<\/p>\n<p>Ocampo and Mejia admitted that they were in the car when the crash occurred.
